No, I did not find these messages. The first link is a discussion about updating the OS via USB. But that's not my problem, because I've updated the OS via MIDI. Just as the Read Me file said I should do ;) The error message described in the second link looks just like I got overhere... so, getting warmer :) Finally, the last link. The posting starts with a solution I've already tried (see my first posting). Win XP will not except installing the drivers manually. After the first solution the posting continues... the person also describes the exact same problem as I have. As I mentioned before I also tried the XL-7 via USB on my other PC. That PC is also running on Win XP. So I guess XP is not the only problem. Thanks anyway for your help so far.
