Using the Eloader software to put patterns into the unit will only load factory-made patters/songs, correct? >>>Songs and Patterns yes, but not just factory ones. You can import any SMF into the XX-7's via E-Loader. I'll take the midi files from my XL-7 and load them into Cubase to do fine tweaking, then reimport them back into the XL-7 just fine. <<< were to buy the Pure Phatt ROM, I'd be getting all the tones that appear on the MP-7 (ie: basses, leads, pads, drums, etc.), but I wouldn't be getting the factory-made patterns using those sounds, right? >>>Right, but you can download from our little group. <<< I guess I just want to make sure that E-MU's definition of patters and patches is the same as Roland's. I could do without having the patterns from the MP-7, but I would love to have the patches. >>>EMu's and Rolands definition of Patterns and Songs is identical. Emu calls their sounds "Presets", while Roland calls them "Patches". <<< I just received some pretty horrible news - not one single store in Canada carries E-MU products any longer. Hopefully, I can twist their arms and have them order me one. Either that or eBay might have to come to my rescue. >>>I'll sell you my XL-7 with the custom paint job and the Protean Drum ROM (no XL-7 ROM though) for $350. Seriously, let me know if you're interested, it's going on Ebay soon anyway. <<< rEalm The information transmitted is intended only for the person(s)or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or legally privileged material.
