Maybe check to see if you have another midi track assigned to that
channel? Double check there's not another PC message too.

Not that I know of. After I stop Sonar the preset is still the drum kit I
do
not want.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

I am using Sonar 2.2XL to record some songs and on one midi track that a
band
member emailed to me, the XL7 is receiving a patch change message that
takes
me out of the desired preset sound that I wanted (an organ sound) and
changing
it to some drum set.

For some reason, even if I remove the event from the midi track, the
preset
changes anyway - to that same drum kit. I am stumped.

To take a different tack, is there some way to filter out incoming preset
change events on the XL 7 so that it only obeys the note information and
does not
change the preset sound I have chosen?

Gerry D
