Very strange, the compaction is completely normal and will happen every
now and then (read the FAQ for a detail description). Still, after the
process is over, you should still have all of your data there. You didn't
turn off the power in the middle of the compaction process did you? Maybe
try reintializing the unit (after you BACK EVERYTHING UP)?

I was working on something on my XL-7, and when i tired to save
it said sve error code 100 and went into data comapcting mode, so
i;ve lost all my saved stuff (not much), and when it ended the
compacting process it still won;t let me save. so what does
code 100 mean and or what's wrong with it?
