Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Yes. To my knowledge only command station ROMS differ from their racked or
expansion counterparts (the same). and the only difference being the special
programming that might be on their for the command stations.

 

They are also referenced differently via EMU MIDI SYSEX Device ID spec. each
ROM has a specific ID.

 

So the only thing you are gaining by having both are some more preprogrammed
presets.

 

In the case of the XL-7 most of the first bank was programmed with primarily
percussions and drum kit presets. that was the primary difference I'd expect
the ML-7 and Mo Phatt to be the same..

This has not really cleared up things for me. So your saying they 
both have the same WAV data (multisamples), but the patch/preset 
programming is different?  Same goes for other cards? Can someone
