If you've been waiting for a sale on your favorite ROM, check the e- mu website. They have all of their ROM's on sale now for over 50% off. Just don't buy them all up before I get mine :)!!

Arrrrrggggg! Why is it that I have to buy ROM's, THEN they go on sale? My Vintage Collection ROM just arrived today. Oh well. At least I only paid $180. I could have paid $270. This may be my chance to get the MP-7 ROM, and not just the Mo Phatt ROM. I wonder if it is available? Robert

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't the MP-7 ROM and the MoPhatt ROM the exact same thing? I'm in the market for an XL-7 or MP-7 and this post is confusing me! Thanks.... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "robertabrownjr" <Robert@r...> wrote: > Arrrrrggggg! Why is it that I have to buy ROM's, THEN they go on > sale? My Vintage Collection ROM just arrived today. Same Sound Set (Instruments), Different Presets... Different ROM IDs... --- K2500X <kdistefano@...> wrote: > Excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't the MP-7 ROM and the MoPhatt ROM > the exact same thing? I've been a lurker since I bought my xl-7. I'm selling my xl-7 if you're interested. Yes it's a great unit I just don't have time for it. I mainly do video stuff, I just use my triton le and reason. Anyway, if you are it's 4 months old, in extremely MINT condition, still has the plastic on the lcd and barely (and I mean barely) used. I have the box, manual everything. Let me know if you're interested. I have plenty of referrals and tons of positive feedback and zero negative from ebay. I'm in Dallas. Let me know. Bobby

This has not really cleared up things for me. So your saying they both have the same WAV data (multisamples), but the patch/preset programming is different? Same goes for other cards? Can someone explain this in more detail please? Thanks... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Zay-Ah <zay_ah@y...> wrote: > Same Sound Set (Instruments), Different Presets... Yes. To my knowledge only command station ROMS differ from their racked or expansion counterparts (the same). and the only difference being the special programming that might be on their for the command stations. They are also referenced differently via EMU MIDI SYSEX Device ID spec. each ROM has a specific ID. So the only thing you are gaining by having both are some more preprogrammed presets. In the case of the XL-7 most of the first bank was programmed with primarily percussions and drum kit presets. that was the primary difference I'd expect the ML-7 and Mo Phatt to be the same.. Cheers.
