Thanks a lot... I appreciate it... I've been doing some thinking and I finally realized what I'm missing. I'm really unhappy about not being able to replicate my acoustic piano with a keyboard... I posted my situation at the SOS forum (since it's really not a Xl-7 related question...). if anyone wnats to try to help me out... "I spent three years without my acoustic piano... for the first year I hardly composed anything, then I started to compose some things after I began to play with organ and electric pianos sounds. I just moved back to the place where I left my piano and I'm flowing with ideas again... I'm not a lineal composer but more of a structural composer... I deal with harmony and dynamics a lot and they way my body reacts to them... Most of the things are jazz-like improvised pieces. I just realized that is the lack of feedback that I get from my QS8 that puts me of... I can't work around my piano part if I record my acoustic piano since it'd be out of tune enough to not sounds right when I add the other melodic instruments... But when I play my QS8 I just don't get inspired... For me recording an acoustic piano is just not an option... Since I need to be able to play at what ever time I want (ei. 2am) and I don't have a studio room big enough for it... Also, I don't make enough money to have somebody come to my house to tune the piano every week.... I looked around and found this plug called "Steinberg The Grand Virtual Grand Piano"... Has anyobody tried it? I also have an EMu ESi sampler with 128mb of memory... If anybody know of a good sample cd or plug please help me out.... I like the feel of the alesis enough, is the sound dynamics what i don't like. I especially hate how unrealistic the sustain pedal sounds and the fact the the aftertouch seems to be for all the keys and not each single key individually... I've played some expensive roland and yamaha electric pianos and though they responded better it wasn't really that close to a real piano... Do any of you is going or went through the same situation? I'm really frustrated... Any help is more than welcome....." BTW, has anybody tried the acoustic pianos on the ZR rom? It's supposed to be great... thanks... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, erik_magrini@B... wrote: > Thanks! I don't know much about the soft module/synth subject...
