I've seen a couple postings here with machines locking up. I posted this solution (Hopeful solution) before so give it a try. Open your XX-7 and push down on any chip in a socket. Many times during shipping, the chips can vibrate loose and cause all kinds of Havoc. (mmmmm Havoc) When I used to work more with touring acts, this was a very common problem and a problem I also had when all my gear was moved from LA to seattle. If your machine really got confused, You may need to reinitialize it. I'm not sure of this procedure off hand but I betcha rElm knows this off the top of his head.
