You should check-out the Elpac WM071-1950-D5 power supply used with 
the Wiard 300 system.  WM071-1950-D5 is the current part number for 
Elpac's +/-15v supply.

I'm thinking about making a small tabletop box (similar to the one on
the Wiard site) that would house a Joystick (or better yet two of
them!), a JAG and a passive panel of attenuators for adjustment.

Anyone have any tips on this sort of thing?  I'm planning on having a
power cable coming out of my rack and plugging in to this box somehow,
and that's where I could really use suggestions...  I want to keep the
size to a minimum; no on-board power supply.

Seems like the Joystick will be much more comfortable to use when it's
laying down instead of upright.

Yes, I would use one of those supplies. You then would have just a 5-pin DIN
connector (just like a MIDI jack) on the back of your desktop device (the Elpac
supply comes with a 5-pin DIN plug).

I've been thinking about a similar little device. I currently have a mega-control
center mounted in a DJ case that has two joysticks, two JAGs, two Noise-Rings,
a PSIM, two Blacet multiples, and two Blacet linear VCAs but it is a bit large (I'll
post a picture).

I think what you are considering (two joysticks, a JAG, and some attinuator/multiples)
is about the correct collection. Perhaps you can do it with two joysticks, a JAG, two
Blacet multiples, and two Blacet VCAs.

That is the entire reason the 1200 series modules are so 
shallow in depth, for table top use in front of a vertical system like 
the 300 series. California Chassis used to make chassis boxes 
that were 17 x 5.25 x 3 and you could easily mount a row of 1200 
series modules on the 0.5 inch lip at top and bottom.

No one currently working there remembers the model or model 
number and they keep blowing me off. I've turned the office 
upside down looking for the catalog with the part number. No 
luck.

Hammond manufacturing makes a series of chassis boxes 
including ones 17 x 10 x 3. This could take a double row of 
modules on one faceplate.

Still looking for an optimal solution. Any help is appreciated.

well, most, not the GR-1204 Joy Rider.
BTW: DO NOT do a google search for "Joy Rider" apparently it's also a
completely different product.
