Eminent Solina String Ensemble coming from Europe

Eminent Solina String Ensemble coming from Europe

2011-02-08 by desh_59

I just bought an Eminent Solina String Ensemble from Europe.
This gear works on 220V/50Hz and I live in Canada.

Can I use any step up transformer regardless of the 60Hz frequency in Canada? Usually converters and transformers don't convert frequency...
So it means that this gear will run on a faster cycle, isn't? or may be it is converted to DC so it doesn't matter...?

According to the Arp Solina Service manual, there is a way to relocate a wire to appropriate voltage. Can I do the same for an Eminent?
Thanks
Christian

I thought the Eminent solina was the same as the early Arp ones.. so maybe there is hope to easily change the voltage inside.

Looks like the voltage is internally switchable..

Ps, I've got an Eminent Solina, and it rocks.. make sure you buy a decent phaser for it.. lol..

congratulations- nice board.
yes, you can.

I am in the opposite situation, having a few synths here in the UK that came from japan or the US, & only three of which I have been able to convert permanently.

my RS09 has a new transformer to run on 220/50. one of my model-Ds can be rewired internally, & I already did two sources like this, but an earlier model-D will need a new transformer or to stay on the step-up. my cs50 has a very complicated power supply & will have to stay on the step-up for now. but none of this makes any difference to the workings of the synths.
now, if you were talking about a hammond, that'd be different.... :-)

The schematic shows an allowance for wiring to 120 or 220 v
One wire change is all
