I have a Polysix that seemed to fry a few channels on an old mixer. I know that this synth works (for the most part) - it boots up fine and produces sound,

I absolutely agree with this. A lot of the bad traces on the board just look like they go to a “via” that goes through the board to the other side. Unless

When checking for continuity of questionable traces, IMO it s best to figure out which pins of which IC s are being connected by the suspect trace. Then use

Super thanks for the online diagnosis. Based on your feedback I m going to do this: 1) Pull the board, clean up, and test the surrounding traces 2) Replace

What I would suggest is to get the board out of there and put some vinegar (a weak acid) on the area around the battery to neutralize it, then rinse it off

There is some obvious corrosion on the data line traces by the 74LS08 chip next to the battery. This battery wasn’t replaced until after the old one started

Found it! There was a bad trace between the thermistor and R64. Thanks for the help!
2018-06-25 by anthony.putzier@gmail.com
That totally sounds right. I m getting .58 meg ohms resistance on pins 1 and 2 of ic13, much more than the 90.9k ohms it should be. I ll order a replacement

The thermistor is between IC13 pin 1 and the other half of IC13. If pin 1 is misbehaving, I don t think the thermistor is the culprit. pin 2 is a virtual

Oops, I was looking at IC7 on the KLM-367, not the 366 board. Where the heck is IC13 on the 366? From: backshall1@bellsouth.net Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2018

Also, from the way it is acting, it sounds like you have a 393 in the IC slot where it should be a 4558, but IC13 is for PWM speed and MG speed, not Cutoff.

I hate to state the obvious, but don’t forget that the Polysix has a mod wheel without a spring. You need to make sure it is centered. Also make sure the

Just solder alone over a broken trace is not sturdy or stable. Follow Bob’s suggestion and lay a piece of bare wire over the break and solder it on. Don B

Is there any advantage to attempting to fix the traces over using a jumper?
2018-06-06 by Bob Grieb
Don t use only solder to bridge the traces across the crack. Scrape off the solder mask on either side for maybe 1/4 or more and lay a piece of resistor lead

So I think I ve found the issue. There is a hairline crack right underneath ARPEGGO SW4 in this picture.

I think that some tuning weirdness can happen if the optocoupler is bad - I would check that. The KiwiSix manual describes how a bad optocoupler would behave.
