OK she works now! It was just the one bad connection. Now time to tune her up and have some fun! Thanks again everyone for helping!

OK After more testing it looks like CN12 Pin 14 isn t making it to IC1 pin 5, which also isn t making it to the pin which connects with IC6 pin 21. I ll jumper
2016-04-30 by Malte Rogacki
Well, then you need to find out where you lose the continuity. Check continuity between IC6 socket pin 21 and pin 11 of IC29 and IC39 (you ll probably have

Find where the break is... It could even be on the socket for IC 6... Once you find it, jumper it.... Thanks for the pointers Malte ! On Sat, Apr 30, 2016 at

I could not get continuity between Pin 21 and any of the other pins. I ve uploaded several pics of my board just in case. I don t know if it will be useful
2016-04-30 by Malte Rogacki
Check continuity between Pin 21 of the processor socket and Pin14 of CN12 on KLM371. Actually you should have continuity between this pin and one side of all

Check the pins on the IC1? What s the best way to do this? I m not really sure what you re meaning.

Check the rest of the pins on IC1? What is the best way to do this? I m not really sure how to test inverters.

... The switches arrive directly at the processor at pin 27 to 34. IC1 drives (mostly) the LEDs for the switches.

Check the rest of the pins on it ...

There s continuity between CN12, IC1, and from IC1 to IC2. However IC1 does sort of look like there s some corrosion or some damage on its pins. The white
2016-04-30 by Tony McAdam
The switches you refer to arrive at IC1 on the 366 from the 371... I had one recently that was acid corroded underneath the IC... not visible to the eye...

I don t have an oscilloscope but if it s necessary I can get one, it s been on my list to buy one for a while. The reason I don t think it s a Kiwisix problem
2016-04-29 by Malte Rogacki
It s important to keep the following in mind: The stock Polysix has two processors. The processor on the KLM-367 handles everything that has to do with patches
2016-04-29 by Bob Grieb
Do you have an oscilloscope?
2016-04-29 by chrismitchrocks@yahoo.com
OK what would you recommend I do once I m back at this point but the regular KLM-367A is in the board?
2016-04-29 by Bob Grieb
I suggest that if you want us to help troubleshoot, and you really think the problem is not associated with the Kiwi Six, you should uninstall the Kiwi Six

Is this a question of recalling them as patches. Do the buttons work normally ?
2016-04-29 by chrismitchrocks@yahoo.com
Ah. Well I installed the Kiwisix replacement as I believed my KLM-367A was broken due to the issue I described earlier, and I guess that stores keyboard mode
2016-04-29 by Malte Rogacki
The keyboard mode is not stored together with a patch, at least not with the stock CPU board. Recalling any patch will not change the keyboard mode.

By Modes I mean the Key Assign Modes: Chord Mode, Unison, Poly, Hold buttons.
2016-04-29 by chrismitchrocks@yahoo.com
The problem is that the Polysix will not change modes or turn on the arpeggiator. But if I load a patch that is save with Unison on, the LED for Unison
2016-04-29 by Johannes
What is (are) the actual problem(s)? What do you mean by the unison patches display the unison LED ? When the button LEDs react reasonable to the button
2016-04-29 by Bob Grieb
If the LEDs turn on and off when you press the corresponding switch, then the 8049 key assigner MCU is reading the switches correctly. I think all of the

Check IC1 and the area around it on the 366 - especially for corrosion.
2016-04-28 by chrismitchrocks@yahoo.com
I have tested the buttons with a multimeter and they all successfully connect when held down. The buttons each light up correctly; the unison patches display

Hi thank You for great advice . I still have MG VCO and Delay problem on the KLM367. I put new LM13600 but MG VCO do not get Zero, and the MG delay snob do not

So - for those who may have been following along.... I just heard from Mr. Jury who kindly undertook the troubleshooting of my board as it was getting a bit

Hi All, When I first got my Polysix, it had a bunch of dead keys (thank you eBay). I fixed them the same way that I fixed the dead keys on my Mono/Poly...with

... The Open marking of the switch is on the TEST side in the pic. I suspect that could be the wrong way around.
2016-02-22 by Bob Grieb
The test switch is a double pole one. In the normal position, the contacts that have traces connected to them should be open. (not connected) Both of them.

I m not 100% sure but the test switch looks as if it is the wrong way around. This would mean that actually your NORM position is the TEST position and

here s a pic of the board i meant to post long ago though was waiting for a decent digital camera to take the shot with - which I just received. Anyway- thanks

Well - I m about to pack this off and send in to Andrew for diagnosis - sadly I just dont have the time to deal with this - I d love to go in deep to learn

OK. If the lights go on when you connect the resistor and off when you disconnect it, then no need to scope reset, I guess. Maybe start scoping some other

Hi Bob - I ASSUME it s working correctly (the reset) since the lights go off when I disconnect it. As previously mentioned I measure a 0.25v drop with the
2016-02-15 by Bob Grieb
Does anything change when you remove the resistor? Try connecting your scope to the reset input to the CPU and set it to auto trigger. Connect the resistor.

SO - I m back at it now - I proceeded to rig up something for the 56K resistor (47K + 9.1K) but when I adjust VR1 to JUST light things up and then disconnect

Hi Bob - yes I do try to be aware of such things - that s exactly why i didn t solder the pins with the power ON. But it was only after your contribution
2016-02-14 by Bob Grieb
BTW, It s generally not a good idea to solder anything in a device that is powered up. Lots of soldering stations connect the soldering iron tip to earth

yes I am pretty firmly in the don t fix it if it ain t broke school... and I was really pleased how consistent all four voice circuits sounded thus far....

When you get it all up and working, you will need to set the trimpots on the KLM-367 board as described in the calibration steps. Setting them in the same
2016-02-13 by jw_dewdney@yahoo.com
i checked them yes - many times - and the 5v was constantly at 4.96 and the 15 v at 14.92 or something - both seemed MORE than close enough... (?)
2016-02-13 by Bob Grieb
To troubleshoot the staying in reset issue when you try to do the procedure in the manual, put your meter on the 5V supply at the KLM367 board and watch it
2016-02-13 by jw_dewdney@yahoo.com
okay Bob... thanks for the calibration info. It s much more informative than the service manual, i did it by soldering the resistor across the connector pins

yes Bob... it was the proper zener spec that I used for D2... assuming the seller on ebay sent me the proper part number... i get what you are saying about

okat thanks for the info Roman... very good to know. Bummer that the problem is on the KLM367 board though! I was hoping I d solved my problems with it. Too
