Now that's a funny coincidence, because I got a CS-60 as well just a few days ago. And last night I tried various FX devices to go into the "normalized" processing chain for that synth. The Ensemble section of the Polysix does wonderful things on the "Strings 1" preset. And the MOTM Triple Resonator and the Compact A Phaser are very effective as well. Next thing I'll try is the Boss CE-1. (I stopped last night at 3:30) JH.

I love my Roland/Boss 1977 CE-1 Chorus/Vibrato more than any other chorus I've heard. HIGHLY recommended!!! My MOTM has never sounded so good. Chorus is a very effective processing for synth pads and leads! Thomas White PS. Old yes, but still the fattest IMHO (only 4 IC's in it so easy to fix and replace if breaks or goes out to to age) >From: bigd@... >Reply-To: motm@egroups.com >To: motm@egroups.com >Subject: [motm] OT: Chorus units ? >Date: Wed, 13 Dec 2000 12:39:37 -0500 > >pardon the OT, but you guys are the gurus on this stuff! >Can someone recommend a nice , warm, lush , chorus unit. >I just inherited a Yamaha CS-60 and am looking to chorus the pads a bit. >Private mail response encouraged. >Thx >Jim > > > _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. Many decent digital units out there; results vary (my Roland SDX-330 is interesting for chorus). And for inexpensive find a used Rocktron Tsunami stomp box. Very good. The old standby stomp box chorus is the T.C. Electronic unit; not cheap though. Ivan

Yeah! Nothing else sounds like the weird multi-tapped
choruses/flanges you can get of that box. Not too common these days,
though (it was sadly out of production long before A/DA went out of
business).

Definitely not cheap (but not difficult to find used in the $175
range if you look around a bit), but very versatile, and definitely
of "pro-level" sound quality. It has a wide-ranging input trim so it
will work with everything from guitar outputs to mixer line levels to
MOTM levels. Since it's a mono-in / stereo-out unit, it's great for
adding spatial depth to a mono signal (but won't do so as weirdly as
the STD-1). My main "complaint" with it is that unlike most analog
chorus units, it's too pristine-sounding, ultra-clear (sparkly, even)
and low-noise to be very useful for "warming-up" digital synths. But
for MOTM and other analog synths, it's great.
