Yeah!  Nothing else sounds like the weird multi-tapped 
choruses/flanges you can get of that box.  Not too common these days, 
though (it was sadly out of production long before A/DA went out of 
business).

Definitely not cheap (but not difficult to find used in the $175 
range if you look around a bit), but very versatile, and definitely 
of "pro-level" sound quality.  It has a wide-ranging input trim so it 
will work with everything from guitar outputs to mixer line levels to 
MOTM levels.  Since it's a mono-in / stereo-out unit, it's great for 
adding spatial depth to a mono signal (but won't do so as weirdly as 
the STD-1).  My main "complaint" with it is that unlike most analog 
chorus units, it's too pristine-sounding, ultra-clear (sparkly, even) 
and low-noise to be very useful for "warming-up" digital synths.  But 
for MOTM and other analog synths, it's great.
