Ive heard from many the Sherman filterbank is awesome for disitorting things. No tubes but great overdrive and distortion ala the last Depeche Mode or Crystal method albums. http://www.sherman.be/ There about $700 though : ( Jim j

Which reminds me: it's quite easy to overdrive your motm filters as well--I'm not sure how healthy it is for the circuit, but I do enjoy pushing my 410 & 420 into distortion--pretty sweet for solid state. tomr >00 > >Ive heard from many the Sherman filterbank is awesome for disitorting >things. >No tubes but great overdrive and distortion ala the last Depeche Mode or >Crystal method albums. >http://www.sherman.be/ >There about $700 though : ( >Jim > >j > _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. I would have to agree with this observation. I had a guitarist recently plug directly into a Sherman Filterbank and straight into the mixing board and he commented on how cool it sounded. Not only do you get some nice distortion but a killer filter and envelope follower. Pricey but surprisingly useful in lots of situations. It will distort if you do NOT install the 6dB pad resistor (R68). Paul S. ----- Original Message -----
