410 Sync and Kenton

410 Sync and Kenton

2000-04-03 by thomas white

Hey all!

I believe the sweep knob controls the sweep range of both 410 LFO's. If you
turn these off and insert an external LFO from 320 or other source you will
be limited to one sweep instead of two separate sweeps with a third sweep
20% behind. You will for sure be able to re-trigger if you have a 320 or
Kenton LFO with midi sync. Still only the one new waveshape for all 3
bandpass filters, am I correct? Thanks for listening guys.

PS. I just finished building my Kenton Pro-4 1u breakout panel for my MOTM.
It includes 21 1/4" jacks for all of the ones on the back of the Kenton and
I had room left over for 4 sets of multiples like the ones on the 940. I
took extra time with labeling and custom legending. I hope to post a picture
online soon of my system. 2 of my four remaining modules will be here by the
end of the week and I will only have a 101 and 300 left to complete my basic
road modular. Yeah mon!!!

Breakout Panel

2000-04-04 by Nathan Hunsicker

Hi everyone, I was looking into building a breakout panel for my Encore
Expressionist. (8 cv's 8 gates, 2 MIDI's) and I was wondering should I be
using coax or twisted wire to connect the jacks for the Encore to the back
of the panel? The length will be about 3 ft for each cable. I was just
thinking of buying 8 six foot patch cables and cutting them in half ($$$)
Should I be taking a different approach? Let me know -Nate

PS: I would be doing ther same thing with the MIDI jacks, a six foor MIDI
cable cut in half and soldered to the front panel jacks.

RE: [motm] Breakout Panel

I used 2 Hosa 8 conductor snakes for the CV and Gate jacks. They are
currently wired directly to the breakout panel, but later will be wired to a
multipin connector on the back panel, which then goes to the breakout box. I
also brought the DIN sync clock and start/stop out to front panel jacks, so
I can drive sequencer clocks from midi.

I'd use shielded cable, no reason not to.
