I used 2 Hosa 8 conductor snakes for the CV and Gate jacks. They are currently wired directly to the breakout panel, but later will be wired to a multipin connector on the back panel, which then goes to the breakout box. I also brought the DIN sync clock and start/stop out to front panel jacks, so I can drive sequencer clocks from midi. I'd use shielded cable, no reason not to.
