ah. so i will try to trigger my arp omni ii's gate along with my original
audio source at the same time in order to get the envelope i need. but, if
my audio has a fast attack, and i preamp'd it, wouldn't that create a large
enough voltage to open the gate on the EG? ah, but then i'd have to close
it.....i think i am getting this. thanks guys.

when i insert a signal into my '120 it returns a harsh, LF beating, like
it's got major intestinal gas or something :) my audio successfully gets
preamped, i just can't get a useful sound out of the module. someone wanna
give me an example patch and i'll be a believer.... i have available: 100,
110, 120, 410, 800, dual preamp.

One of my favorite uses for the 120 is white or pink noise into input A, LFO
into input B, you can make it sound like a weird mutant breathing.

I agree that the 120 must not be for everyone, but its sure as hell for me!
It was the first module I *knew* I had to order... and when I completed it,
I didn't understand what I was hearing either. But recently I've been
feeding it the input from a Waldorf Pulse directly (the synth's hot enough
to not really need a preamp!) and getting some really nice following buzzes.
And that's just using the sub-octive functions!

I really need a patch bay so I can route things around quicker... ;)

No, you have it right. The 120 has a distinctive sound and rather limited
function (it is only *one* module after all!), and I think it's not for
everyone. Experiment with putting audio in input a and a cv in input b; put
them in cross mode and "dial in" the suboctaves one at a time, then try
different combinations like 1 and 3, 2 and 4, etc. You may be pleasantly
surprised at the bizarre sh*t this module can do!

Mark, you do realize the 120 is for a single frequency if you want sub
harmonics. If you have any complex audio or more than one note present,
the 120 can't decide who/what/where to divide. No chords. :)
