Shallow cases besides SKB?

Shallow cases besides SKB?

2003-07-17 by hciassociates

Anyone have ideas or suggestions for a shallow (say, 10" depth or
less), tall and/or stackable rack case for a MOTM system?

Yes, the SKB pop-up mixer case works, but it's of limited use if you
have more than two rows of modules (since it can't be stacked when
open). I'd like to mount a 3 or 4 panel system + converter (16 spaces
or more) in a lightweight road case, but so far I haven't found
anything other than the traditional deep racks. Those are overkill
and will make transport more difficult than necessary.

SKB makes some shallow cases, but as far as I can tell they only go
up to 4 or 6 spaces in height. I'm looking for more like 16.

Ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Shallow racks are indeed hard to find. I believe this place
http://www.starcase.com/ has road cases as shallow as 10 inches. At one
time they had a side by side rack case that would seem ideal for modular
use, but I couldn't find it this time so it may be discontinued.

hello all,

if you're in the UK then Studiospares has a 'Buster' case that is around the
same price as an SKB, also Canfords do a rackmount / wallbox sort of thing
which is probably suitable
i however went down the SKB route, and i hate them (okay - love/hate)
mike if you're in the UK get in contact and i'll give you some details

cheers

Thanks to John for that link - I contacted StarCase last night and by
early this morning they'd gotten back to me to let me know that they
can do any size/configuration, they just need specs to give a quote.

So I've sent them a basic description (16 spaces, 10" depth, etc) and
I'll follow up here later when I hear from them, to let you all know if
this looks like it might be a viable option.
