RE: [motm] Re: filter selection....

Chub: you neeeeeeed a 480, no doubt about it. Mine is actually challenging
my 440s as my most-favorite filter. It sounds gorgeous, but I miss the
additional FM inputs that the 440 and other filters have. When I get my
second kit, I'm going to take a long look at Richard's modifications and
consider what customizatons I want to do with the thing.

So yeah, two 410s, two 440s, two 480s... However, I have yet to hear
anything about the 485 that makes me want one. Are there any 485 owners out
there who would like to explain to me how it is that I'm missing the point
on this one? I'm debating whether it should go on my BIG SALE shopping list,
simply because it's an MOTM filter, but I've yet to hear either verbal
descriptions or sound samples that provoke my gotta-have-it impulse.

Adam's right. I've got two 410's - one with the wonderful Oakley OMS-
410 expansion module - and I couldn't get along without them! One is
enough for a great stereo sound, but two allow you to go nuts with
the CV inputs for depth and rate and create a very animated sound
field.

Now to be fair, I don't own a '480 - yet! When the date arrives for
the big sale, however, don't stand in between me and that filter! If
it says "Synthesis Technology" on the front panel, it is a necessary
module.
