Hi, Having only just purchased my EMAX II recently, I've never had cause to open it up until now. (Never had any keyboard open except my M1 when I replaced the internal battery actually). However, I noticed last night that the A4# key on the EMAX II nly plays intermittently - sometimes it sounds on first pressure, sometimes I have to press it a few times or for a few seconds before I get a sound out of it. All other keys are fine. Is this likely to be a simple contact problem or something? What should I be looking for when I open it up? Many thanks, Steve

Sounds like a contact problem to me...just get to the contacts and use a pencil eraser on it. You may not see any buildup or anything. Just clean them and check if it works. Worked like a charm for my keyboards :) On Mon, Mar 1, 2010 at 1:26 PM, mud_plugga <steve.limbrick@...>wrote: > > > Hi, > > Having only just purchased my EMAX II recently, I've never had cause to > open it up until now. Thanks for that. Looks like none of the contacts have ever been cleaned - they were all in varying degrees of black! Did a quick clean of most of them, concentrating on the one I knew was having problems and any others that looked worse than most - all is good again! At least having opened it up I can see how easy it would be to add a HD. Anyone have any preferred HD brands/models that don't cost an arm or a leg? And what about mounting it? Subject: [emax] Newbie tech question re EMAX II - key not working intermittently
Hi,
Having only just purchased my EMAX II recently, I've never had cause to open it up until now.
Many thanks,
Steve
