Is anyone familiar with the procedure on replacing one of the emax keys? As far as removing the spring and whatnot?

Hi, This is pretty simple. From what I recall there are four screws holding the keyboard in place. Remove those and you can flip the keyboard towards the mainboard and the springs I believe are hooked into the key and soldered into the keyboard circuit board. ________________________________

Opened it up and took another look. Yea sure enough the springs are hooked in and just pop right out. Don't know how I missed that the first time.. thanks! Another problem I've noticed... the data slider will jump around between values sometimes. Especially notice when changing tempo. Could probably use a little cleaning I'm guessing, what's the best way to go about cleaning them? Cheers, andy --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Patrick R <designlord@...> wrote:

Glad it worked Andy, I actually just re-capped my PSU last night. It still had a problems so I have a fully disassembled Emax in my living room, but my sliders were pretty grimy. Since you have it open I would do a full clean. Get a can of air or use an air comp. if you have one and clean out any hair/dust. You can buy electronic contact cleaner, or you can just use rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts. It doesn't look like it would be a good idea to lube it as that would attract more dust and doesn't appear to be needed. Patrick ________________________________
