How to make two monitor match?

2009-11-16 by Phiegze

I have a Spyder two and two Samsung 213T monitors and I can't get the calibration to make them match.

I'm using WinXP32bit and software 2.2.3.5
I have two almost identical ATI Radeon Cards (one for each monitor) one is a 1600 and one is a 1650. (one has a fan and one is silent). One monitor is 1.5 yrs older than the other.

I turn down the backlight on both, and I've tried from level fifty down to level zero. I check them both within minutes and both in a very dim or darkened room.

They never come out to match? I could easily get along with just one being properly profiled but with two not matching I can't trust either or the Spyder.

Will the new Spyder do a better job? What am I doing wrong?
I have no confidence in the Spyder at this point but before I spend more money or switch brands I'd like get some advice. Especially if you think I can get this to work.

Do other folks get both monitors looking the same?

Thanks
