I looked all over the internet, the manual doest not provide sufficient information for a newbie like me. So im kinda glad i found this group. I was using a single BCR2000 and a BCF2000 both as solo devices so far, few days back i got another BCF2000 and now i want to merge the two BCF's. I did every thing according to the manual, setup all the midi in and outs. It doesnt seem to work. I dont get it when the manual says set the UNIT 2 to MODE 4. whats mode 4 ? Some help would be really apreciated. thanks guys

All the pages of diagrams in the center of the manual refer to the operational 'modes' of the BCF/BCR There are 4 'modes for the USB connected to a PC/Mac and 4 modes for MIDI or standalone (you have the latest manual from the Behringer website don't you? ) To access the modes go to the global setting (hold down 'edit' press 'store' - the LEDs stay on) and turn the top left encoder. In the display you will see your current mode. Turn the encoder and you will change modes and see the U-1 to U-4 then S-1 to S-4 in the display. Select one and press exit. BCF 1 should be in USB-4 mode to connect to your computer and Standalone-3 for the other unit. The diagram of Unit 2 in mode S-3 (page 10) isn't the same as the diagram for S-3 on page 12, but all they have done is left out the stuff for Midi port A which you are not using anyway. You will need to create a different preset for each BCF so the DAW can tell channel 1 from channel 9 etc Hope this helps Royce

All the pages of diagrams in the center of the manual refer to the
operational 'modes' of the BCF/BCR
There are 4 'modes for the USB connected to a PC/Mac and 4 modes for
MIDI or standalone (you have the latest manual from the Behringer

To access the modes go to the global setting (hold down 'edit' press
'store' - the LEDs stay on) and turn the top left encoder.
In the display you will see your current mode. Turn the encoder and
you will change modes and see the U-1 to U-4 then S-1 to S-4 in the

Select one and press exit.
BCF 1 should be in USB-4 mode to connect to your computer and
Standalone-3 for the other unit. The diagram of Unit 2 in mode S-3

I tried editing preset and CC value manually on the unit by pressing edit and moving the fader. But i could only change that on BC mode. Auditions works with MC C or MC SO. i cant seem to edit values on these two. I changed all CC values on BC mode and then switched to MC C and returned to BC mode to check if the values were saved.....but they werent. I tried doing this using BCedit, but my BC edit crash while transferring preset to my BCF. any ideas ? thanks Anu

Hi Anu
> Ok i followed your instructions and it did work on Audition 3. But the problem is that when i move one fader the other BCF moves its faders too. say if i move the first fader of the first BCF then the first fader of the second BCF moves too. What seems to be the case ? thanks mate
How much do you know about Midi? http://www.borg. com/~jglatt/ tech/midispec. htm
If the preset on Unit 1 has Fader 1 putting out values for (Continuous Controller) CC 10, for example, when unit 2 sees this Midi message, as it has its Fader 1 (your Fader 9) set to the same thing (CC10), it thinks the DAW has sent the Midi message and so it should adjust the position of the fader.
You will need to create a different preset for BCF 2 so the DAW can tell channel 1 from channel 9 as well as the BCF knowing it is different from the other unit.
I assume that Audition uses CC but I have a feeling that it might use Pitch Bend on different channels.
Check the Audition help files.
Grab an editor (Mark's or mine ) and load the preset you are using on Unit 1 and edit it.
Or from the front panel of Unit 2
Hold 'edit' and move a fader. You are now ready to edit the fader set for the preset in the edit buffer.
Encoder 1 controls the type of Midi message (CC or Pb in your case)
Encoder 2 Midi channel
Encoder 3 CC number - ignore this if you need Pb
Encoder 4 Min value (leave this for now)
Encoder 5 Max value (leave this for now)
Encoder 6 Mode of operation (leave this for now)
Encoder 7 Controller option (leave this for now)
Encoder 8 Display type (leave this for now)
Change the CC number on each fader (and encoder and button if that's what's needed)
Save it and send it to Unit 2
ie
Fader 1 = 10, 2 = 11, 3 =12 etc
Fader 9 = 20,10=21,11 = 22 etc
You might like to look at the Midi spec (see link above) so you don't choose controller that might clash
CC7 for example is Volume - don't use that.
If you are using CC, as an alternative to changing the CC number you might like to simply change the Midi channel number (Unit 1 on channel 1 and Unit 2 on Midi channel 2 for example)
You'll still need to do that on each control.
You will need to save the preset as you changes will be lost if you turn the unit off or change the preset.
'exit' to get out of edit mode.
'store' to go into store mode - flashing LED . Select the preset to save it to (or write over the current one)
'store' again to save it.

Art is an expert in the emulation area perhaps he could help. As far as I know, the only way to fix this is the have Unit 2 (and perhaps unit 1) set in BC mode and a preset created for Audition. Although the MC C uses note on message then PB then note off and the end of the block. Very strange. The rotary encoders just use CC messages and the buttons use note messages. There are some Audition users amongst us. Has anyone created a preset that can be used in BC mode for audition?
