Problem with SDS9 pad

Problem with SDS9 pad

2019-07-25 by hamsterdrum85@...

Last year, I bought a single trigger Simmons SDS9 pad and modified it into a dual trigger pad. I don’t understand why only the rim sample will only sound when I strike the head normally and the snare sample will either rarely sound or will only sound when I strike the head softly. I don’t know if the head pickup is bad or if it’s some other problem. I used my meter and tested it with a cable attached before playing it and everything is connected right.

Did you replace the jack to a stereo? Only a question...

I am using a stereo jack. I did use my meter to check the connections and I tested the outputs on my Alesis SampleRack to identify the zones. I don’t know if the head pickup was bad or if the snare sensitivity was too high.
