So difficult to say really ... I'm tempted to tell you whatever people will be ok to pay for. If it's me ... not as much as you could expect for many reasons. If it's someone first Simmons kit probably more... If it's a wealthy & crazy collector...who knows what price it can reach. An SDS7 stays an SDS7 ... the most unreliable Simmons ever. which means something, as Simmons's force never has been reliability. & again we're talking about a 25 years old machine wich means first changing all capacitors (lifetime is in the red zone ! ) After if it's full loaded you have at least the price of 12 modules inside... When you say "hand built" ... Ok but what are the brought functions or "Specs" with it ? What is the cosmetic state ? amount of hours it's been used ??? state of the pads ? did it tour or stayed in studio ? & so on ... But for me all that parameters should define the Real price & not the affective or psychologic (sometimes "mental" ) one . ;-) Like a car quote in fact.. Let us know... Patrice. NICE!!!!!!!!! Free shipment Sorry but for that amount off money, I'd buy a ddrum, a extra sampler, a PA system and the flightcases, plus the car to transport to make it to a gig. But who am I?? Happy bidding Berk

Hi I was not being that serious The 7 was used as a factory demonstrator for around a year before it was retired As far as I can tell it sat in the factory until the end when it was disposed of Now the bad news The case is in very rough order in fact it was so bad it was not until after I gave it a good clean that the serial number came to light The pads are in good condition but the selector pad the cartridge and the stand are once again very rough All in all when I first saw it I was not impressed but as it was just about given it I did not complain It works then it does not then it does usual story Lots of TLC and it responds with some really nice sounds Which is why I still have it I LIKE THE SOUNDS IT PRODUCES The only reason for owning any piece of musical equipment Brian --- On Wed, 6/2/10, Jacquot.Patrice@... <Jacquot.Patrice@...> wrote:

So difficult to say really ...
I'm tempted to tell you whatever people will be ok to pay for.
If it's me ... not as much as you could expect for many reasons.
If it's someone first Simmons kit probably more...
If it's a wealthy & crazy collector...who knows what price it can reach.
An SDS7 stays an SDS7 ... the most unreliable Simmons ever. which means
something, as Simmons's force never has been reliability.
& again we're talking about a 25 years old machine wich means first changing all
capacitors (lifetime is in the red zone ! )
After if it's full loaded you have at least the price of 12 modules inside...
When you say "hand built" ... Ok but what are the brought functions or "Specs"
with it ?
What is the cosmetic state ? amount of hours it's been used ??? state of the
pads ?
did it tour or stayed in studio ?
& so on ... But for me all that parameters should define the Real price & not
the affective or psychologic (sometimes "mental" ) one . ;-)
Like a car quote in fact..
Let us know...
Patrice.

Im wondering if people are investing in things rather than banks...Its not just me , they really are ridiculous prices arnt they? looks like im gonna have to be content with what I already have and stop the collection, I cant afford prices like that! pete --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, Jacquot.Patrice@... wrote:

Wowzers. That's a a lot of $. Especially for a non-functioning SDS7. On the other hand, I thought his MTM sold for a very reasonable $125. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "p_k_daniels" <p_k_daniels@...> wrote:

I guess. it might also be a Gambler selling the SDS7 bits by bits later... I'm just thinking that if we're bidding all in the same time... we're also responsive & actors of this stupidity. We could maybe inform each other about our intentions like gentlemens !? wouldn't it be more clever ? Unless the seller is a "very good friend" . Is Ebay a Casino ? anyway ! I've tried this before... Often with good experience. But also, you might alert people originally not interested (it has happened). Apart from Simmons and the EDP synths I zoom in on Realton's machines and when it comes to those I know the two people I might end up battling against the final seconds so we three try to be gentlemen and inform about our intentions. We even have our own little private mailinglist. Last year I received a mail in response to a statement about a unit for sale and that guy replied in kind words that it wouldn't matter how much I was ready to pay 'cause he would win it. I stepped down, and he did. I can live with that, it was expensive and he plays for a living, I don't... Also, I have most of the Simmons gear I "need". It's just the claptrap mk2 and bargains that are interesting I think. -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se
