velocity -> hihat pedal?

velocity -> hihat pedal?

2010-04-25 by jesper

Hi list,

since you're all so quite I keep rambling... being a midi moron I hope
someone else has a good answer to my problem. :D

Is there a way to velocity control the hihat pedal input of the MTM and
route that to the SDS-V? I've managed to set it up to accept the mod
wheel on my master keyboard as the hihat pedal but that's quite
annoying. I'd like, if possible, to assign a key next to the one
controlling the hihat so that this keys velocity acts as the pedal.

I always thought velocity was among the standard cc locations available
but maybe I'm mistaking? Time to test with a standard pedal...

Not sure what you want, but velocity is not an standard CC like mod wheel
for exapmple. the velocity is sent everytime when a note is triggered, so
it's part off the midimessage.

Thanks Berk,

As I guessed then. I've gotten used to velocity control due to my Kenton
converters allowing that for routing too. :)
I hooked up a filter pedal and it worked like a charm on CC64.

cc64 is sustain: you could use a switch instead

I know, I used what I had around. Just glad I got it working. :)

mmm Jesper ,
could you describe your settings & precise hardware connections so ?
I wanna do that from a Drumkat or Trapkat.
