Hi to everyone, and Happy Holidays? Can anyone tell me what is supposed to happen with this input? Is it a THRU for routing and external signal thru the SDE? Mine doesn't do anything, and the manual (although mine is intact and complete) does not explain the use of this. Please help, and thanks. I have utmost respect for the SIMMONS users/wizards on this message board! Christopher

I don't have a SDE, but I own a TMI and on that one you have inputs converted to midi, but they're also routed to outputs if you want to keep for example an analogue sound and route it to a mixer separately. My guess is that the idea with the SDE is similar. -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se www.myspace.com/machinepop

Hi, Jesper, and thanks a bunch... I am afraid I still don't understand, though. Is it meant to be an audio signal - as in from a microphone or synth - whose voltage is converted to a signal which triggers a midi channel in the SDE? And even so, if this is the case, there must be some internal setting that I am overlooking to get this to function. Maybe it would help if I look at the TMI manual. Is a copy of it here on the forum? Thanks so much, Chris --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, jesper <jesper@...> wrote:

Many used the TMI and SDE with an acoustic set with microphones. This way you could mix the acoustic sound with the electronic of the SDE. I have no scanned version of the TMI, "just" the paper original. Better indeed would be to find a SDE manual... or someone with good knowledge of it. I thought you'd looked here already, but maybe not then.
