mesh heads on musicaid pads?

Hi List! As mentioned, I've settled for a setup with "just" 8" pads with dynamic speakers as pickups. I e the SDS-3, SDS-4, Pollard and Pearl Syncussion pads. I'm looking to buy new skins for a couple of the pads that are in lousy shape. Will mesh skins work with that kind of pickup? I have some kind of mesh on the Pollards and it works nice though they aren't as effective as far as trigging goes. This can have more to do with the brains and the fact that Pollard was designed for Pollard and as I recall it they trigger the Syndrum just perfectly. Mesh looks cool and isn't as noisy.
