Cool!

I haven't seen those pics before. The SDS looks a lot cooler than I 
imagined!
I guess the DIN-5 is for trigger inputs...

I would've loved some close-up to see if it's the same labelling and 
typeface as on SDS-2.
When was the book published?

Hi Jesper,
the book had been published in 1987 (in the year when 'old-Simmons'
collapsed). I have an idea where the original SDS actually might be,
I'll check...
The adjustable parameters on the unit are some kind of sensitivity
switch (probably some kind of line/mic level switch) followed by
pitch, resonance and decay length. Then a switch for envelope
inversion, then a poti for envelope level and last but not least the
volume faders.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
