I imagine it was Daniel Miller s influence at that time, but imho the TR808 and SDSV combo used on A Broken Frame resulted in the definitive electronic drum

Put me in the category of having paid a lot of money for one. But, it is almost mint and a must have for any Simmons collector / enthusiast.

As for DM, in my opinion after Wilder left the polished sound of the band has been lacking. An avid DM fan in the early days, I lost interest after Exciter

Very interesting book for all the Simmons addicted. A real pity that all pics that appear on the book are in black and white (and even then is a great book).

Actually we ve seen much worse. Someone here confessed having paid about 150 or 200$ (don t remember precisely) for one... That was really crazy money ... ...

Forget Back to the Future , this guy is in Future to the Back . Sounds like the really early 80 s stuff that we probably all thought was cool at the time...

Excellent ! :-)

It looks like a genuine ESQ1 that was fitted with wooden or similar end pieces. Or a VERY convincing and accurate knock off... All I know is the kid playing it

I think that the brown wire is pin 6, which will make it +15V unregulated. From the schematics this definitely looks unregulated, (and unsmoothed too!),
