It should work - all pads are identical (within usual manufacturers tolerances). Try increasing the sensitivity on the SDS1000 bass and snare inputs - that

Yep, SDS8 pads (mark 3) and SDS1000 pads (mark 4) use the same pickups - they ll work fine.

Mark 1 pads were made by Premier for the SDS 3 and 4 and used loudspeakers for pickups. Mark 2 were the riot shield pads Spandau Ballet and everyone else

Or skip midi and just use the Simmons stuff along with the analogue synths. Not much can go wrong there! Either it works or it doesn t, but it s very very hard

The hard pads were only outfitted w/ the SDS-5. Any other model was sold w/ rubber over wood. The newer they are, the better the rubber and response curve.
