Approaching Warp 9 with an unstable pad would be dangerous - possibly sending threatening subspace transmissions to the module, and is not recommended.

To be honest - I haven t got the faintest. AFAIK the surface below the rubber or composite is wood, but what kind of composite material it is I do not know...
