Perhaps fitting one of the Engineers@Work trigger boards to the drum brains would be more convenient: http://www.engineersatwork.nl/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/536 I have one of these fitted inside a Roland TR-77 and it works very well (although the triggers had to be inverted and shaped for it to work since Ace Tone and early Roland drum machines are very quirky). I'm about to have the same board fitted inside my M&A K2 drum brain. The only downside is that the note assignment is hard-wired, although it uses the GM MIDI mapping which is a reasonable compromise. The Engineers@Work folks might be able to custom code the firmware for a different mapping if you ask them. Chris
