Re: Betr: [Simmons Drums] SDSV U.S.A VOLTAGE

2010-02-24 by Andy W

Hi Berk,

The Simmons unit I have is a UK model 240V 50Hz.
A suitable step-up transformer would suffice to use this model outside the UK Correct me if I am wrong, but the USA voltage is typically 110/115/20V AC @ 60Hz, so the current on your secondary of the transformer would be lower than your primary but this wouldn't be an issue.

I would guess that the frequency difference would not be an issue, but am not 100% certain.

Regards

Andy.

Didn't know it was possible to do braintransplants (sorry, it's an open door,
talking about getting my first drumbrain)

Don't want to be a smart ass, It's all about the Voltage (and then the Watt's/
Ampere's) Perhaps you knew, so hope you don't feel offended. If you didn't
then I just saved you a once in a lifetime special theatre effect, something
between fireworks and a smokemachine (and a bad day or 2)

Berk
