Good summary Brian. These days I don't buy as much as I did, but when I
did, I went for the machines with bad rep and those described as
"quirky" since it gave me a lot for my invested cash and also expanded
the sonic horizon.
In the Simmons world this "quirkyness" can be applied to SDS-7 which has
a reputation of breaking down if you just look at it. In my experience
it's not true, and therefor still an OK deal on the 2nd hand market
compared to a workhorse like the SDS-8. Amazing how these two machines
cost about the same today compared to 1. - what they can do. 2. - What
they cost new.
