Yeah, good idea, some paint will eat plastic! I went into a decent paint store and asked one of the experts, I actualy took a pad in and he knew straight away the best stuff for the job. The primer I used was ready paint after 20 minutes, really quick setting. The paint I let dry for 24 hours before recoating just to be sure. Darren's suggestion of a clear lacquer is a good idea, just be careful as SDS9 shells are a pretty tight fit as they are so any extra coats may make it hard to get them back in. I'm guessing you know how to pop the shells off an SDS9 pad? You'll obviously have to do that before you paint them. If you checkout some of the custom guitar building sites around they explain how to do this. > > > Regards > -- > Darren > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com on behalf of Matt > Sent: Thu 5/06/2008 3:45 PM > To: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Simmons Drums] Re: Painting Pads... > > I painted some black SDS7 pads yellow and they came up really well. > > I basically used car/auto paint with a primer.
