You wouldn't believe the design;

------------ widely spaced tape -------------

A semi-good "whack" short-circuits the two sheets and you get a trigger. 
Simple but surprisingly effective.

I know that feeling. I just couldn't help myself. :D I mainly buy stuff 
that's working 'cause I like to use them but this was far too cool and 
far too cheap to let go.
