Looks like the seller dug out the original transformer... I'll meet with him 
later this week. Then I'll get a homemade bass drum trigger too... :)

Depends on what the rest is behind it
If the current is stabilazed by an IC ( like an 915) it can be increased
a few volts ( up to 21V perhaps)
if not than it's supposed to work on 15 V as well ( and that's a much easier
kind of transformer t find I guess)
