Re: [Simmons Drums] Are the Simmons SDS5 pads compatible with an Alesis DM5?

2006-10-17 by Matt Litsch

Thanks for the advice! P.S. I know nothing about the inside of the brain. The stupid guy that was trying to fix it for me told me that (maybe it wasn't a battery, but something melted inside) Anyway, thanks again!!!

Now you can swap the xlr's polarity: Pin 1 remains ground, pin 2 should be +, Pin 3 gets empty. The DM5 has Jack Inputs, so adaptors will be necessary. If you changed the polarity like described above, the adaptors will work. By the way: You really had an SDS5 with a - battery?

Can't get them to work with the DM5. My SDS5 brain battery exploded
several years ago and I'm just getting back into the band game. Bought
an Alesis DM5 and thought I could us my old drum pads with it. Not
working!!! Ugg!! Anyone out there that can help me?
e-mail me if you have any advise.
