If there's a battery in your SDS-5 I can imagine the crash being quite
futuristic and destructive!

Are the Alesis eating XLR? If so you need to re-solder them...

Open the pad and remove the resistor which is soldered between the pins of the xlr - output. Now you can swap the xlr's polarity: Pin 1 remains ground, pin 2 should be +, Pin 3 gets empty. The DM5 has Jack Inputs, so adaptors will be necessary. If you changed the polarity like described above, the adaptors will work. By the way: You really had an SDS5 with a - battery?

Thanks for the advice! P.S. I know nothing about the inside of the brain. The stupid guy that was trying to fix it for me told me that (maybe it wasn't a battery, but something melted inside) Anyway, thanks again!!!

Probably a dead PSU then or something like that. So whatever you do - don't
throw it out unless you haven't already. it's probably fixable by someone
_not_ a moron!

And welcome to the list - we sure could use some ladies around! ;)

Hopefull I can find it. I have a lot of items stored so hopefully it is there somewhere. Do you know of a person that could repair it for me if I can find it? And, would it be worth repairing...probably would be pretty pricey!

If you find someone who knows what they're talking about and it's something
like the PSU it's both worth it and shouldn't cost too much. But that
depends on what "too much" is. Anyone on the list in your part of the woods
maybe?
