Open the pad and remove the resistor which is soldered between the pins of the xlr - output. Now you can swap the xlr's polarity: Pin 1 remains ground, pin 2 should be +, Pin 3 gets empty. The DM5 has Jack Inputs, so adaptors will be necessary. If you changed the polarity like described above, the adaptors will work. By the way: You really had an SDS5 with a - battery? Michael Can't get them to work with the DM5. My SDS5 brain battery exploded several years ago and I'm just getting back into the band game. Bought an Alesis DM5 and thought I could us my old drum pads with it. Not working!!! Ugg!! Anyone out there that can help me? e-mail me if you have any advise.
