I never knew that was the case with the 7 as well... but I could've guessed. ;) > So I ask you, oh hexagonal hipsters, how does the hi-hat card > differ from other sound cards in the sds-7? are there 2 e-proms for the > open and closed > sounds? Don't know... but I bet Wolfgang can answer. > I also have an > sds-5 What is that hi-hat module like? Hard to get! ;) Or that wasn't what you meant? It's one single eprom used in both hihat and cymbal cards and it's the same code on them. It's a sampled noise or hiss which just is looped for longer sounds. Amazing how good it sounds when you think about it. > Is that the most difficult piece to the Simmons > puzzle? _Your_ Simmons puzzle? We all have puzzles with missing pieces I guess, atleast us gearheads. My missing piece is the SDS-III. I wouldn't mind the original SDS either, but as far as I recall I think I've heard it's no more... So I guess I'll tweak my little SDS-2 some more and think about Wolfgang's missing puzzle pieces. ;) > I would like to hear from some of you Simmons experts regarding these rare > items. OBTW, the hi-hat pedal has a 1/4 inch output and both the sdsV and > 7 require XLR. > Hmmm... is this the real pedal or is it a counterfeit pedal? Weird... either it's modified for a modified set. Or is it maybe intended for a later Simmons unit? I'm not good at the digits passed 5 (as in SDS-V). Ask Wolfgang and the rest of the list. I always assumed it had XLR but I have no original pedal. I run my pedal to a patchbay and from there there's one cable going to the hihat input. > I suppose a trs-xlr cable will do > the trick. What do you guys think? (something tells me that Jesper shall > come to my rescue > first) God bless you, Jesper! Yes, I think it will do the trick, but it would be interesting to hear what the list has to say. And thanks... good luck! electronically yours, jesper - he doesn't just bless me, he is in part responsible for my paycheck as well ;) - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se
