I never knew that was the case with the 7 as well... but I could've guessed.

Don't know... but I bet Wolfgang can answer.

Hard to get! ;) Or that wasn't what you meant? It's one single eprom used in 
both hihat and cymbal cards and it's the same code on them. It's a sampled 
noise or hiss which just is looped for longer sounds. Amazing how good it 
sounds when you think about it.

_Your_ Simmons puzzle? We all have puzzles with missing pieces I guess, 
atleast us gearheads. My missing piece is the SDS-III. I wouldn't mind the 
original SDS either, but as far as I recall I think I've heard it's no 
more... So I guess I'll tweak my little SDS-2 some more and think about 
Wolfgang's missing puzzle pieces. ;)

Weird... either it's modified for a modified set. Or is it maybe intended 
for a later Simmons unit? I'm not good at the digits passed 5 (as in SDS-V). 
Ask Wolfgang and the rest of the list. I always assumed it had XLR but I 
have no original pedal. I run my pedal to a patchbay and from there there's 
one cable going to the hihat input.

Yes, I think it will do the trick, but it would be interesting to hear what
