SV: Re: [Simmons Drums] Remake of famus simmons!

2005-08-31 by angeyoda

Nate ,
I do listen to you, just not the same opinion ...or the same
needs...I agree with the space saving aspect !!! I start to meet this
problem now the collection start to be consequent .
I also have a pearl DrumX, & I love it very much !
here again what does mean "souding more Simmons than Simmons" ? ...
probably depends for who & for what .
For me the DrumX is a more clean sound, very smooth, nearly a sort FM
music sound .
Not such as wild & powerful than what we're talking about in this
forum, but still ; very, very nice !!!
I'm a drummer so it changes my point of view from an electro music
maker for example or .
I love the low end of SImmons & especially the LowToms of the "V" , 7
9, & SDX of course...
Does it disappear in most of mixes ? well it depends who mixes &
what ; but yes here again I agree, most of the time it does
disappear .
When I compose, I use them where they can be at their most presence,
or I don't use them , that's my philosophy .

What are you doing like music with that sounds ?

Patrice.
