Any recommendation for a specific model of oscilloscope? Just want to use it to calibrate my M15's. Cheap-but-does-the-trick-with-minimal- hassel would be good. I've been looking on ebay but since I don't know jack, I could use some input. Thanks in advance. Adam

A Tektronix 465, you'll be good. --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "junglephone" <junglephone@...> wrote:

Look in your local newspaper or ads. You should be able to find them pretty cheap used.

don't understand what's wrong with a software oscilloscope like Signal Analyzer: http://www.rs-met.com/freebies.html all you want to do is calibrate your M15, you might as well get something for free. Did anyone say there was anything wrong with a software scope? You really do have an abrasive condescending tone in most your posts argitoth. for a guy who dislikes digital so much, you sure do rely on it a lot.

thanks Chris Muir, finally I know why people need an analog oscilloscope. now I can stop suggesting digital ones. Assuming that you are replying to a previous message where I said: > The main problems with software scopes are they don't generally handle > DC voltages, and they are not callibrated. I wasn't speaking about the difference between analog and digital, but between the difference between a software scope that uses whatever audio inputs may be available, and a hardware scope that has dedicated calibrated inputs. Many hardware scopes are digital these days, and are really good. - C Chris Muir cbm@well.com http://www.xfade.com
