Peter - I am building custom panels and would like to use the Plan B hardware. The knobs have been discussed before. Could you please provide for the group, maker & model specifications for the PB 28 jacks, toggle & push button switches? Hope that's not a secret -Thanks, Bill

The toggle switches can be found all over the place, any manufacturer you wish. I suggest you look at Mouser and browse through what they offer. The pushbutton switches at Mouser, they are NKK part number KB-15CKW01 - that's just the switch body, then you have to select the snap in lens color and LED color is you care to illuminate it. all three parts will cost you about $8. Do a Mouser Search and call them to make sure you're selecting the right lens ad the right LED. The Jacks are made by CLIFF. Part number CL1384 fr the PC Mount, CL1362 for the solder tail type to hook wire through. God luck finding them! CliffUSA are buggers and dont keep stock. You have to buy many. For the specifications for any of these - look at the manufactures specs. They are downloadable. I don't want to mis-squote anything here. hope this helps - - P --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "dingfutzer" <eyesaw@...> wrote:

So people don't think I've got anything to hide, 'Seret Life' is in reference to the name of a album project I've been working on for eons, which has seen a bit of renewed interest this year from a couple of labels and probably would have been released if I'd get off my ass and complete it. The title comes from a large (28 minute) analog piece entitled "The Secret Life of Semiconductors". - P --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "Eyesaw" <eyesaw@...> wrote: > > Thanks Peter - Congratulations on success in translating your imagination into the best synth modules available. Was the title "Secret Life of Semiconductors" meant to echo Peter Tompkins' book "The Secret Life of Plants?" I gather this work caused a bit of a sensation in the mid-1970's. Weirdly some years ago I set up a talk at the Library of Congress with Jeff Bagato, a local musician and author, who summarised the work of scientist Norman Lederman. Lederman used microvoltages on the leaves of house plants to play his ARP 2600 and actually released a single of this plant music. I don't think it was a huge seller. He named the ensemble on the disc The Stereofernic Orchidstra. How about a Plan B module that I can hook up to my Boston fern? You lucky lucky Bastard, I love Peters stuff I have found on mp3, I am into the more experimental side of electronic music/early electronic music....so Peter if you would like to send a copy to Australia I would gladly pay for it :-) I could do you a swap of my last Cray CD released on BipHop France a while ago :-) Ross

Nah...I just liked the sound of it. I have a hard time naming things. I usually don't title pieces with names that conjure images - like 'Trip to Venus' or something as I don't want the listener to have any preconceptions of what the piece may be about and, don't want any boundries in it's creation so that that imagery is supported, therefor representational. Case in point - "Electrolux" - it doesn't mean anything (outside of a vacuum cleaner). Further (not that my opinions mean anything of course), I have grown tired of the phenom. of outer space references to electronic music. Too gimmicky. Electronic timbres aren't as out of this world as they were in 1968. So, the Trip to Venus thing would probably never happen, even if I was into metaphorical references. The CD will be entitled 'Secret Life', an abbreviation for the piece This one I couldn't resist as I appreciated the mystery it suggests. - P
