For the record, I have not used the kenton 2000 or the encore units,
so take my advice with a grain of salt, perhaps.  I did use the pro
solo for awhile until I got the motm-650.  At first, I did want
multiple oscillators tracking a single CV.  These days, I tend to
patch my oscillators in multi-voice configurations more frequently. 
So I guess it really depends on how you imagine yourself using your
modular.  Using a separate mult is (arguably) a more flexible
arrangement, but it means you'll need more cables.
