(Sorry if this was already discussed- ) It seems that the 6 black MK
II's all had, or still have, famous original owners. Coincidence? Were
these not available to the average Joe?

Thanks- Jim #912

Hi Jim,

Here's who had 'em......as far as we know: John Lennon, Pink
Floyd(previously Judie Tzuck's dad's), Princess Margaret, Graham Nash, The Alma Tavern,
London (and then to Jon Lord) and a recording studio but can't remember which.
Justin Hayward and John Lodge have one that they used with Blue Jays but we
think it may have been Princess Margaret's although it may be one other, making
seven in total. The good thing is we know where six of them are.

This is either tedious or interesting,

Best,

Martin

Does Jon Lord still have the MK II ?

..rather fitting that the organ player from the MK II era of
Purple has a MK II mellotron (which he didn't use in the MK
II incarnation of the band)

It seems a very british connotation, "Mark II" - rather than
version 2 or part 2.
