anyone aware of who played the tron on the GG&F album? Also is that 
Robert actually SINGING at times?

Future bandmate Ian MacDonald played the Tron.  And Fripp doesn't sing, but 
instead does some spoken word.  I think Mike Giles did the singing.  I have 
the CD.

I was under the impression it was Fripp himself. Does it say it was
MacDonald in the CD booklet?

Yes it does.   Although I think Fripp has expounded it more in more recent 
interviews and diaries.
