Hey easy on the poor ole Birotron - tape wander and looping echo gave it a 
much more interesting sound than a turbo-vac. Musically poorer, yeah, but 
more interesting!   And remember, they're as rare as rocking horse s**t 
(and possibly as musical)  ;-)
